Jigawa, 2027 And The Octopus Intercept

The race to 2027 is now on, with many actor getting confused and desperate to grab power. Power to a good believer comes from Allah, and He takes it away from whom He (Allah) wishes. This should be the guiding principle in both the political and economic spectrum of our engagements. Alas, many have failed to realize this.

The recently held primaries in Jigawa state was one of the best similar exercises in Nigeria, with well-organized arrangement for the conduct of the primaries across all elective positions. It is certain that various candidates have various degrees of interests and qualifications, and intent. Some are committed democrats, while some may be undecided, while some more are surely desperados eager to be in positions of power.

Changes in loyalty, cross carpeting and double deals and standard are thus abound in such circumstances, and Jigawa state will not be an exception. The primaries have paid off in Jigawa state, as the elders committee has done its best to promote fairness and justice. It may not be 100% perfect, and that is of course not possible – but the best was put in place.

Grievances and complaints abound, but Allah knows the best and He is Omniscient. Recall, I once mentioned the octopus in one of my write up months back. I posited that, ‘’in many cultures, octopuses are seen as symbols of change, transformation and adaptability. They are also known for their intelligence and their ability to blend in and become invisible, which can be seen as a metaphor for finding inner power and strength. Thus, the political octopuses take delight in evading concrete and objectively sustainable culture that is transient to all situations and circumstances. There are of course many of them, using their adaptability and cunning skills to evade possible audit, detections and or realignment’’.

I also in another instance talked of taming the octopus thus,’’ With its many limbs capable of reaching in all directions, the animal has been employed repeatedly as a symbol for financial greed or pernicious grab for power and territory. It is by extension, an imperialist. Imperialism is the highest stage of capitalism. And it is the purposeless disposition on the part of a state or group for unlimited forcible expansion. The octopus never sleeps, and never repents’’.

Politics is primarily a process for creating positive changes and better living condition for all. It is neither about personal interests nor a venture for capital accumulation – which unfortunately is the case with many of the politicians, their agents and octopuses.

Mallam Umar Namadi has done remarkably well, and still doing his best to make Jigawa better; yet there are many of the octopuses that have opposite intent.

Very Unfortunate: The recent hullabaloo in Auyo was uncalled for. It must have been instigated and sponsored by agents and forces of disorder, enemies of the state, bent on bringing Jigawa state to its knees.

Impossible: The octopuses never relent in making scenes at any given opportunity. It is a matter of opportunity cost, which makes the alternative forgone. The state has forgone the lame and ineffective mandate of the too slow and uncertain choice, for better and more credible candidates.

Jigawa is changing for good, with clear land marks on ground for all to see and benefit. Mallam Umar A. Namadi deserves public support and prayers, he deserves more commendations and cooperation – the mentor of Modern Jigawa state, not egoistic outcries that are swept under the carpet, and flip like match’s flare in the wind.

NOTE: The drive for a better Jigawa with sustained development is a collective bargain that calls on all hands on deck; not the nocturnal plots that are as good as writing signatures on water.
