Senator Babangida Hussaini Kazaure, representing Jigawa North-West Senatorial District, has categorically dismissed recent claims that he plans to contest for the governorship of Jigawa State in the upcoming 2027 general elections. He described these allegations as false, mischievous, and aimed at creating division within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a strongly worded statement he personally signed, and to Nigeria This moment, the Senator expressed concern over a trend of unfounded narratives being circulated on radio platforms, intended to mislead the public and incite unnecessary political tension.
“These claims are entirely false and clearly designed to create unnecessary tension, division, and mischief within our great party, the APC,” Senator Babangida stated.
He reaffirmed his loyalty to Governor Umar A. Namadi and the APC, emphasizing their collaboration in the best interests of the state.
The Senator specifically referenced a recent appearance by Magaji Dogo on Freedom Radio, where the unfounded claims were reiterated. Dogo allegedly wore a campaign-style T-shirt featuring images of both Senator Babangida and Governor Namadi, misleadingly suggesting that the claims had his endorsement.
“This act was highly deceptive,” Senator Babangida remarked, questioning Dogo’s motives and consistency in his public appearances.
Reiterating his political stance, Senator Babangida declared his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Jigawa State Government under Governor Namadi. He called for the APC leadership to take action against the spread of misleading narratives that threaten party unity and discipline.
He urged party members and the public to disregard these rumors and focus on strengthening the APC and advancing the socio-economic development of Jigawa State and Nigeria as a whole.
