Hisba , an Islamic propagation institution with the mission of inculcating moral behavior for better and decent society has been in existence for morethan twenty years in Jigawa state and for almost two decades it was operating like an association without autonomy and standard operational structure
With theย inception of Governor Umar Namadi”s administration in 2023, Hisba Board was established by a lawย with a view to reshapen its activities andย operate under a standard organizational structure
In an exclusive interviewย to reviewย Hisbaย Board achievements in the three years of Governor Danmodi’s administration , its Commander General Dr Muhammad Faiz Bashir said, the Governor had approvedย the Monthly minimum wage of Hisba personnel’s from Six thousand to Twenty five thousand naira and expanded its workforce from 1200 to 2600 in addition to operate under independent annual budget allocation
Drย Muhammad Faizย disclosed thatย each of its twenty sevenย local government command offices was allocated a Brand New Hilux vehicles, two at its state Headquarters in Dutse and six atย its six zonal offices across the state adding that its personnel uniformย has been modernised to meet modern standard
He said the New operational vehicles and the uniform will soon be launched by the Governor
Commenting on it operational activities as a Board ,the Commander General explained that within three months the commandย had received and settled more than five hundred civil cases out of court and prosecuted six in line with the provision of the law that mandated it to prosecute if necessary
Dr Faiz described Hisba as a friendly organization with the mission of ensuring a crime freeย healthy and decentย societyย collaborating with other security agencies to achieve these objectives
The Commander Generalย said Hisba Board withย a reasonable and sizeable workforce than any state Government agency will leave no stone unturned to operate within the ambit of the law that established it to make Jigawa free from immoral activites ,through intelligent gatherings Guidance and Counselling as well asย Da’awa enlightenment
