As part of her commitment to improving the lives of women across Jigawa State, the Wife of the Governor, Her Excellency Amb. Dr. Amina Umar Namadi, has distributed sewing machines to women with low incomes to support them in establishing self-reliant businesses.
The initiative is in line with the First Lady’s determination to enhance the welfare and economic well-being of women across the state through empowerment programmes.
During the distribution of the sewing machines, the First Lady, who was represented by Hajiya Uwani, urged the beneficiaries to make proper and productive use of the support in order to improve their livelihoods.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, some of the recipients expressed their appreciation to Amb. Dr. Amina Umar Namadi for the gesture, describing it as a life-changing intervention that would help them become economically self-reliant.
