The Jigawa State Government is set to host the Investment Summit 2026, a pivotal economic event aimed at attracting strategic investments, fostering partnerships, and accelerating sustainable development throughout the state.
This was announced by the Commissioner of Information, Youths, Sports, and Culture, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed, during a press conference at the NUJ Press Centre in Dutse. The Commissioner explained that the summit is a crucial initiative to reposition Jigawa as one of Nigeriaโs emerging investment destinations.
Scheduled for July 1st and 2nd, 2026, the summitโs theme is โUnlocking Opportunities: Driving Sustainable Growth for a Better Jigawa.โ It is expected to attract global investors.

“The state is leveraging its agricultural strengths, renewable energy potential, youthful population, and expanding infrastructure to attract investors,” the Commissioner stated. He emphasized that the summit reflects the administrationโs commitment to economic transformation through private sector participation, innovation, and inclusive growth. Jigawa is recognized for its vast untapped opportunities, particularly in sectors essential for long-term economic prosperity.
The two-day summit will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, development partners, entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and international investors for high-level discussions focused on unlocking investment opportunities in the state.
Key sectors for strategic investment include:
Agriculture: Mobilizing financing and partnerships to modernize farming, enhance value chains, and improve food security.
Renewable Energy: Exploring alternative energy solutions to support industrial growth and sustainable development.
Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs): Emphasizing their critical role in driving industrialization and job creation.
Social Services: Strengthening public-private partnerships in education and healthcare to improve service delivery.
