The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a specialized dietary program for diabetic pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise. This initiative is part of a comprehensive strategy to prioritize the health and well-being of all participants during the holy pilgrimage.
Ahmad Umar Labbo, the Director General of the Board, disclosed this during an inspection visit to the medical screening center at Dutse General Hospital. He emphasized that providing tailored nutritional support is essential for ensuring a safe and medically sound experience for those managing chronic conditions.
Labbo stated that the dedicated meal plans for diabetic pilgrims are designed to help maintain stable blood sugar levels. He highlighted that Jigawa State continues to lead in pilgrim welfare by offering three daily meals, a standard of care unique to its delegation.
โ€œThe welfare and health of our pilgrims are our top priorities,โ€ Mr. Labbo affirmed. โ€œWe remain committed to providing the necessary resources to ensure every pilgrim can perform their rites in good health.โ€
The Director General also expressed gratitude to Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi for his prompt approval of the initiative and ongoing support for enhancing pilgrimsโ€™ welfare.
