Namadi FCA, used its Monday, 6 July 2026 meeting to approve a bold package of interventions touching lives across emergency response, pensions, healthcare, agriculture, livestock development and education administration.

In the health sector, the Council approved ₦2,136,060,609.38 for the complete solar-powered electrification of four health facilities: Birnin Kudu General Hospital, Ringim General Hospital, Kazaure Specialist Hospital and Bulangu Cottage Hospital.

Reliable electricity is not a luxury in healthcare; it is the backbone of safe surgery, emergency response, laboratory services, maternity care, cold-chain preservation and general hospital efficiency. By choosing solar-powered electrification, the Namadi administration is combining healthcare reform with clean energy innovation.
The project reflects the Governor’s wider vision of modern, accessible and sustainable healthcare across Jigawa State. It also connects directly with the Renewed Hope priority of improving health, expanding infrastructure and unlocking energy for sustainable development. At the national level, the Presidency has described infrastructure as central to a modern economy; Jigawa is translating that principle into hospital power systems that can touch patients directly.
Agriculture and Livestock: Building Prosperity from Jigawa’s Productive Roots
Few approvals speak more directly to Jigawa’s economic identity than the Council’s investment in dairy production and agricultural support. The Council approved ₦3,340,739,507.88 for the Jigawa State Dairy Production Programme, a strategic initiative designed to transform the livestock sector, significantly enhance dairy production, strengthen the livestock value chain, create employment and improve household livelihoods.
For a state where many households depend on farming and livestock rearing, this is development placed exactly where it can multiply value. Dairy production is not just about milk; it is about nutrition, rural income, women and youth participation, small enterprise growth, veterinary services, processing, transport, markets and jobs.
The Council also approved ₦923,670,000 for the 2026 Rainy Season Phase IV of the Jigawa State Workers’ Agricultural Support Programme. This initiative empowers public servants to participate in agricultural production while contributing to food security, household income growth and increased food output across the state.
Together, these approvals reveal Governor Namadi’s agricultural transformation agenda in motion. They align naturally with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope focus on boosting agriculture to achieve food security and with the APC Manifesto’s long-standing commitment to agriculture as a driver of jobs, diversification and rural prosperity.
Education Administration and Digital Governance: Tools for Better Supervision and Smarter Delivery
Education also received a major institutional boost. The Council approved ₦581,667,718.75 for the procurement of eight vehicles, 30 laptop computers and 100 desktop computers for deployment to the Jigawa State Senior Secondary Education Board and other parastatals under the State Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology.
This approval may appear administrative on the surface, but its impact can be far-reaching. Vehicles will strengthen supervision, inspection and monitoring of educational institutions. The laptops and desktop computers will improve digital administration, data management, communication and operational efficiency.
In practical terms, this is the quiet infrastructure of education reform. Schools improve when they are monitored. Policies work better when institutions have data. Students benefit when agencies can plan, communicate and respond faster. By investing in the tools of administration, Governor Namadi is strengthening the system behind the classroom.
