A financial expert, Professor Yusha’u Ibrahim Ango, has expressed concern over the frequent transmission breakdowns at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Kaduna National Station, despite repeated calls for its revival.
Professor Ango described the station as one of the enduring symbols of the Northern geopolitical zone, alongside institutions such as Ahmadu Bello University, noting its historic role in promoting unity, peace and national progress. He warned against any attempt to allow such a legacy institution to collapse.
He stressed the need for all stakeholders, particularly elites and wealthy individuals, to contribute their quota towards the station’s revival in order to restore its role in public enlightenment and the effective communication of Federal Government policies, as witnessed in past decades.
The Financial Expert, also Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics Kaduna State university noted how the Oduduwa and Ohanaze socio-cultural groups support such institutions in their arrears.
Professor Yusha’u Ango was dismayed over the demise of critical institutions such as the NNN and “Gaskiya Tafi Kobo” described as unfortunate.
