Improving Livestock Trade is a Path to Economic Development -Usman Usman Fulani

It has been stated that creating a conducive environment for improving livestock markets, known as “Kara,” throughout the state is a way to enhance the economy of Kano State.

 

 

The President of the National Association of Cattle Dealers, Processors, and Transporters in Kano State, Alhaji Usman Usman Fulani, made this statement during the inauguration of the association’s leaders in  Dambatta Local Government Area. He emphasized the role this association plays in promoting peace, security, and economic growth at the state and local government levels, particularly in generating revenue.

 

 

Usman Usman Fulani stated that the inauguration of the association’s leadership in Dambatta will greatly help elevate the status of livestock traders and work hand in hand with security agencies and stakeholders in the cattle trade, including buying, processing, and transporting cattle between states.

 

 

Additionally, he urged the Dambatta Local Government to provide assistance in improving livestock conditions, particularly by providing barns, security, and accommodation facilities, to ensure that the market maintains its reputation as a leader in the cattle trade.

 

 

He expressed gratitude to the Dambatta Local Government Chairman, Jamilu Abubakar Dambatta, who was represented by his deputy, Sadiq Fagwalawa, at the inauguration of the association’s leaders in the area.

 

 

In his remarks, L-Press representative Abubakar Muhammad Kabir pledged to ensure that the cattle trade receives support for essential infrastructure to enhance the trade in cattle and its processing. He urged the leaders to uphold truth and justice in their leadership.

 

 

In his speech, the Kano North representative of the association, Tijjani Ibrahim Zakari, stated that undoubtedly, this association will continue to unite traders involved in the buying and selling of cattle to promote regional development. He called on stakeholders in Dambatta to support this association.

 

 

Tijjani Ibrahim Zakari thanked the Dambatta district head, Dr. Mansur Muktar Adnan, and the Dambatta Local Government Chairman, Jamilu Abubakar Dambatta, for their support in establishing the association, expressing that the association will work hard to create a favorable business environment for cattle trade.

 

 

Addressing the new leaders, the Dambatta Local Government Chairman, represented by his deputy Sadiq Fagwalawa, reminded them of their responsibilities to unite traders and avoid personal biases in their duties.

 

 

Sadiq Fagwalawa reaffirmed the Local Government’s support for the association, stating that soon, the Local Government will provide assistance to improve livestock conditions.

 

 

On his part, the Dambatta district head, Sarkin Ban Kano, Dr. Mansur Muktar Adnan, represented by Baba Ado, congratulated the new leaders and urged them to avoid anything that could tarnish the reputation of the association or the Local Government.

 

 

He also stressed the need for fairness among traders, stating, “The market belongs to everyone, both visitors and locals, so it is essential to treat everyone justly, especially guests, as kindness benefits the town.”

 

 

In his acceptance speech, the new President of the Dambatta Association, Muktar Dahiru Ibrahim, promised to lead with fairness and adhere to the association’s regulations at all times.

 

 

He called for unity among the association members for the overall growth of the association and the Local Government.

 

Muktar Dahiru Ibrahim thanked the Local Government Chairman and the Sarkin Ban Kano for their advice and support for the association’s development. He also commended the security agencies in the region for their cooperation, assuring them that this association will continue its efforts to improve livestock trade and processing in the area using modern business strategies.

During the event, the association’s identity cards and operational guidelines were inaugurated, among other activities.
