Eid-El-Kabir: FRSC Jigawa Command Announces Special Patrol

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Jigawa State Command has announced launching of its 2026 Eid-El-Kabir Special Patrol, scheduled from May 25 to May 31, 2026.

According to a statement from the Command Spokesperson, Yahaya Ibrahim Yahaya, said the initiative aims to manage the anticipated surge in human and vehicular movement during the festive season.

He said, the patrol is crucial for ensuring a smooth and safe Sallah celebration. Under the leadership of Corps Commander Umar Masaโ€™udu Matazu, the FRSC has devised strategies to promote safer road usage throughout the state.

The statement listed the key objectives of the Special Patrol to include; Reducing road traffic crashes on highways and major roads, Promoting public awareness and enforcement of road traffic rules and Providing prompt rescue services and responding to distress calls.

Others are; Ensuring the speedy removal of road obstructions,

Enforcing penalties for critical offences such as overloading, overspeeding, and using phones while driving.

To support these efforts, the FRSC has deployed 461 personnel, 120 Special Marshals, eight patrol vehicles, and four ambulances across the state.

He explained that the Sector Commander CC UM Matazu urged citizens to adhere to traffic regulations and emphasized strict enforcement against underage and reckless driving, warning that aggressive measures, including mobile courts, will be implemented to tackle traffic offences. The Sector Commander wished all citizens a peaceful and enjoyable Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
