Former Deputy Governor of Kano State and current Chairman of the Board at the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Alhaji Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, has donated 400 bags of 5kg rice to the Kano Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) for distribution to various chapels and media workers as part of his Ramadan Humanitarian Initiative.
During the distribution, Dr. Yusuf Gawuna who was represented by his aide Alhaji Mansur Gawuna, emphasized the importance of supporting journalists, highlighting their significant role in democratic development.
โI consider journalists as partners in progress in every aspect of life. Their role in information sharing is vital and can never be underestimated,โ Gawuna stated.
His aide, Aminu Umar, served as chairman of the distribution exercise in collaboration with the leadership of the Kano NUJ.
Comrade Suleiman Abdullahi Dederi, chairman of the NUJ Kano Council, expressed gratitude for Gawuna’s gesture, noting his longstanding positive relationship with the media. โThis is a significant media engagement from the former Deputy Governor. On behalf of all our members, let me express our profound appreciation for this gesture,โ Dederi added.
