Gombe APC Announces Dr. Jamilu Shaiyaku Gwamna as Consensus Governorship Candidate for 2027 Elections

Gombe State’s All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially named Dr. Jamilu Shaiyaku Gwamna as its consensus governorship candidate for the upcoming 2027 elections.

This decision was made during an extensive stakeholdersโ€™ meeting led by the party’s leader and current Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

According to a Press Statement issued by the Director General, Press Affairs to the Governor of Gombe State, Ismaila Uba Misilli, said the meeting also ratified consensus candidates for various positions, including three senatorial districts, six House of Representatives seats, and 24 State House of Assembly constituencies. Key attendees included aspirants for governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly, along with members of the State Working Committee, party elders, and senior officials from the North East zone.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya spearheaded the consensus candidate selection through extensive consultations with senior party members, aiming to foster internal cohesion and minimize friction as the elections approach. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the party’s structure and ensure unity among its members.

The following candidates were adopted for various constituencies:

Senatorial Candidates:

Gombe Central: DCP Mohammed Ahmadu Deba

Gombe South: Hon. Jerry Damara

Gombe North: Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya

House of Representatives Candidates:

Akko Federal Constituency: Hon. Usman Bello Kumo

Yamaltu/Deba Federal Constituency: Hon. Inuwa Garba

Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency: Hon. Ali Isa JC

Kaltungo/Shongom Federal Constituency: Hon. Fatima Binta Bello

Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency: Hon. Saddam Bello

Dukku/Nafada Federal Constituency: Hon. Jamilu Shabewa

The APCโ€™s decision reflects a concerted effort to present a unified front ahead of the elections, reinforcing the party’s commitment to collaboration and strength.
