NUJ Mourns Loss of Seven Gombe Journalists in Tragic Accident

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed profound shock and sorrow over the tragic death of seven journalists from Gombe State in a fatal road accident.

In a condolence message, issued by the National President of the Union, Comrade Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi, described the loss of these dedicated professionals as a devastating blow. He emphasized their unwavering commitment to serving the public with courage, integrity, and professionalism.

Comrade Alhassan, noted that the untimely deaths of these journalists have created an irreplaceable void in the field of journalism, sending shockwaves through the journalism community both in Gombe and across Nigeria.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the deceased, as well as to the Gombe State Council of NUJ, reaffirming the union’s solidarity with those affected by this tragedy.

The NUJ also called for urgent improvements in road safety measures and responsible driving practices to prevent future tragedies.
