BREAKING: Governor Yusuf Relieves Kano Head of Service of His Appointment

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, has relieved Alhaji Abdullahi Musa of his position as the State Head of Service, effective immediately.

This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Tuesday evening.

“It is part of ongoing efforts by the current administration to enhance the efficiency, discipline, and service delivery of the state civil service” the statement said.

Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude to the outgoing Head of Service for his dedication and contributions to Kano State during his tenure. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors and pray for his continued success in all aspects of life,” he stated.

In the interim, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary of Admin and General Services at the Cabinet Office, has been directed to serve as the Acting Head of Service until a new appointment is made.

The outgoing Head of Service is required to hand over office affairs to the Acting Head of Service by Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
