Governor Umar Bago of Niger State has dismissed all 30 of his Special Advisers, effective immediately.
The decision was announced during his first council meeting with newly sworn-in Commissioners at the Government House in Minna on Tuesday.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor indicated that this action aims to reorganize the advisers’ roles for improved performance.
Governor Bago stated, “The termination of their appointments is to allow me to rejig and reposition their portfolios to make them more effective and efficient in line with my New Niger agenda.” He expressed gratitude for their service and contributions to his administration, adding, “I appreciate them for their sacrifices and contributions towards the success of my administration and wish them well in their future endeavors.”
This dissolution marks the end of all Special Advisers’ tenures in Niger State, as Governor Bago initiates a restructuring of his administration under the New Niger agenda.
