The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has earmarked over ₦3 billion for the upcoming 2026 Hajj exercise.
This was made by the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, while depending the 2026 budget proposal before the State House of Assembly Committee on Religious Affairs.
Alhaji Labbo stated that the funding will be used to procure an ambulance for transporting patients to health centers during the operations in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the budget will cover daily operations, accommodations for board staff, and ad-hoc personnel, including medical teams, Islamic clerics, and media representatives assisting in the Hajj.
He urged intending pilgrims to regularly attend Hajj orientation sessions to gain essential knowledge for fulfilling the Hajj rites properly.
The Chairman of the Jigawa State House of Assembly Committee on Religious Affairs, Alhaji Abdu Ilu Muku, affirmed the committee’s commitment to visiting the Hajj camp and facilities. He emphasized the importance of overseeing all preparatory stages to ensure the successful execution of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
