Police, Pilgrims Board Strengthen Security Collaboration for Hajj Operations in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police Command has pledged to strengthen security collaboration with the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board.

The Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijjani Murtala, made this pledge while receiving the Director General, Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Ahmad Umar Labbo, in his office.

The visit, according to a press statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, aimed to fortify institutional collaboration and enhance security coordination for upcoming Hajj operations.

“Discussions centered on mutual interests, emphasizing robust security arrangements, effective communication, inter-agency cooperation, and the paramount protection of pilgrims and stakeholders throughout the Hajj process” the statement said.

CP Tijjani Murtala commended the Pilgrims Welfare Board for its crucial role in managing the welfare and religious duties of state pilgrims. He assured the delegation of the Command’s unwavering commitment to close collaboration with the Board and other agencies, ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of all pilgrims and officials.

The Commissioner reiterated the Police Command’s dedication to providing professional, responsive, and intelligence-led security services. He further underscored the importance of early planning, information sharing, and coordinated security efforts as essential for a smooth, safe, and successful pilgrimage.

Responding, Director General Alh. Ahmad Umar Labbo expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for the audience and acknowledged the consistent support from the Police Command. He affirmed the Board’s commitment to maintaining a strong working relationship with the Police and other security agencies, particularly concerning pilgrim safety and welfare.

The meeting concluded positively, with both parties reaffirming their dedication to continued partnership, mutual support, and effective coordination for public safety and the welfare of Jigawa State pilgrims.
