NUJ Radio Jigawa Chapel Elects New Excos

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Radio Jigawa Chapel has successfully elected a new Executive Committee (Excos) to lead the union for the next three years.

The election, which took place today, marked a significant moment for the union as it aims to strengthen its mission and enhance journalistic practices in the State.

The newly elected members are:

1. Chairman: Abba A. Haruna

2. Vice Chairman: Abba Umar

3. Secretary: Ana’s Ya’u Abdullahi

4. Treasurer: Isah Yahaya

5. Financial Secretary: Ismail Muhammed

6. Auditor: Khadija Abdullahi

In his post-election speech, the Chairman, Abba A. Haruna expressed heartfelt gratitude to the members for entrusting him with this important role. He emphasized the need for unity and collaboration among all members to propel the union forward, stating, “Together, we can achieve remarkable progress and address the challenges facing our profession.” He also commended the efforts of the Jigawa State Council of the NUJ for their unwavering support in facilitating a successful election.

The election was supervised by Sani Muhammad Gumel, the Ex-Officio of the Jigawa State Council of the NUJ, ensuring that the process was fair and transparent.

The new Executive Committee is committed to promoting ethical journalism, enhancing member welfare, and fostering professional development within the union. Members are encouraged to support the new leadership in their initiatives to advance the goals of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Jigawa.
