Communal participation through persistent tolerance and dedication has been identified as a panacea for societal development.
The District Head of Dambatta, Sarkin Ban Kano, Dr. Mansur Muktar Adnan, made this known during a reception organized in honor of Professor Kabiru Abdussalam, who was appointed to professorial level and Chief Consultant Chemical Pathologist by the Senate of Bayero University Kano.
Dr. Mansur Muktar, represented by Alhaji Baba Ado, emphasized the importance of mutual respect and cooperation among community members, stressing that challenges can only be overcome through collaborative approaches. He thanked the people of ‘Yanbanga’ for the warm reception extended to Professor Abdussalam and urged them to sustain this spirit.
In his speech, Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, Professor Haruna Musa, revealed that Professor Kabiru Abdussalam is among the university’s rare gems, having distinguished himself in research and academic excellence. Consequently, the university management conferred upon him the title of Professional and Chief Consultant in Chemical Pathology. Professor Musa encouraged him to intensify his efforts in research and academic breakthroughs.
The District Head of Makoda, Architect Ali Mukhtar, praised the Professor’s dedication to improving the lives of local residents and urged him to maintain his commitment to the overall development of the area. He advised Professor Abdussalam to remain steadfast in fulfilling his responsibilities.
Former Chairman of Dambatta Local Government, Alhaji Musa Alhassan, noted that the event serves as a morale booster for Professor Abdussalam and encouraged other associations to emulate this gesture. He expressed gratitude to the dignitaries who attended, describing the event as unprecedented in the area.
Speakers at the occasion included Dr. Musa Gambo Takai, Consultant Psychiatrist from Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina; Professor Abdullahi Hamisu of AKTH; Associate Professor Zainab Uba Ibrahim, Consultant Chemical Pathologist at AKTH; Dr. Suraj Kasimu from the Department of Chemical Pathology, AKTH; and Professor Aminu Bukar from the Department of Microbiology, Bayero University Kano, all praising Professor Kabiru Abdussalam for his selfless service to humanity.
In his address, Professor Kabiru Abdussalam expressed profound gratitude to esteemed personalities, including Sarkin Ban Kano Dr. Mansur Muktar, Sa’in Kano Architect Ali Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor Professor Haruna Musa, and all those who traveled from far and near to attend, including the Chief Medical Director of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and other prominent academicians.
The Yanbanga Clan is one of the distinguished dynasties in the area, with families spread across Warawa, Babura, Bichi, and Doguwa Local Government Areas.
Later, gifts were presented to Professor Abdussalam by relatives and well-wishers from within and outside the local government area. The event attracted organizations and individuals from various backgrounds, symbolizing recognition of Professor Abdussalam’s commendable character.
