Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has approved the immediate dismissal of Adamu Abdullahi Danko and three other aides following an investigation into the physical assault on Hon. Abdulrahman Abubakar Sheriff, Councillor representing Shamaki Ward in Gombe Local Government Area.
In a statement issued by the Director General of Press Affairs, Ismaila Uba Misilli, said the decision was communicated by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, after the formation of a special committee to probe the incident.
The committee’s findings, corroborated by reports from security agencies, informed the Governor’s actions. The affected aides include:
1. Adamu Abdullahi Danko (Senior Special Assistant II, Domestic)
2. Garba Mohammed Mai Rago (Senior Special Assistant II, Political)
3. Rabiu Sulaiman Abubakar (Senior Special Assistant II, Social Media)
4. Ali Ibrahim Baban Kaya (Senior Special Assistant II, Community Relations)
Governor Yahaya has directed that the dismissals take immediate effect. The affected officers must return all government property in their possession to the appropriate authorities without delay.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s zero tolerance for violence, misconduct, and abuse of office, emphasizing that actions undermining public peace or confidence in government will not be tolerated.
He assured the people of Gombe State of his government’s commitment to the rule of law, accountability, and peaceful coexistence, stating that decisive measures will always be taken to maintain public order and the state’s stability.
