Jigawa HOS Urges 8% Desk Officers to Act with Integrity

The Jigawa State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, has called on Local Government eight percent desk officers, staff officers, retired and deceased desk officers, as well as representatives from Emirate Councils, to uphold integrity in their duties.
He made the appeal during a meeting with the officers, held at Sir Ahmadu Bello Hall, State Secretariat.
Alhaji  Muhammad K Dagaceri Dagaceri, emphasized the urgent need to address delays in processing files for retired and deceased civil servants, ensuring timely payments through the contributory pension scheme.
According to a statement issued by the Spokesperson, office of the Jigawa State Head of the Civil Service, Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse, the Head of Service, reminded the officers of their responsibilities toward civil servants and the importance of ethical conduct.
He commended Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi for his unwavering support to the State and Local Governments Contributory Pension Scheme, which is recognized as a leading model nationwide.
Alhaji  Muhammad K Dagaceri, cautioned against extortion during the processing of retirement benefits, warning that any officer found guilty would face strict consequences.
The State Auditor General Dr. Garba Muhammad Dutse, assured participants that efforts are being made to expedite the processing of retirement files, with ongoing monitoring to minimize delays.
The Permanent Secretary,  Ministry for Local Governments, Alhaji Muhammad Yusha’u Jaji, praised the meeting’s objectives and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the initiatives.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State and Local Governments Contributory Pension Scheme, Dr. Bilyaminu Shitu Aminu, highlighted the meeting’s purpose in resolving issues related to file processing delays and commended Governor Namadi for significantly investing in the scheme to enhance the welfare of civil servants and pensioners.
Participants were given the opportunity to ask questions and contribute, fostering open dialogue on these critical issues.
